The big questions of the energy transition arise right where people live. These questions can be solved. Of this we are convinced – so much so that we not only develop innovative energy concepts, but also participate directly in their planning, financing, realisation and operation.
Acting as an independent player, Stadt.Energie.Speicher has since 2023 been developing solutions for the sustainable energy supply of neighbourhoods, districts, municipal utilities as well as communities and municipalities throughout Germany – from densely populated existing neighbourhoods to extensive new developments. Whatever we are working on: We always consider the issues of mobility and urban quality of life.
Our roots are in wind energy: We know that renewable energy generation isn’t always consistent. Therefore, we are focusing heavily on issues of load shifting, storage solutions and predictive control systems – aiming for stable power grids, improved energy efficiency and lower energy prices. With this in mind, we developed our first prototype of a power-led large heat pump for the Überseeinsel GmbH district in Bremen. Thanks to its XXL heat storage tank, this system can be operated with available wind and PV power.
The system started operation in May 2025.
